Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich faced off in a Bundesliga match. Both teams tried to control the game in their own way, but Bayern proved more effective in front of goal by scoring on one of their few chances. Despite having more possession in the second half, Dortmund could not find an equalizer as Bayern defended well after Lewandowski's goal. Bayern's effectiveness in front of goal allowed them to win the match despite being dominated in possession at times by Dortmund's pressing game.
A brief analysis of how the defensive organisation of Atletico de Madrid, masterminded by Diego Simeone, beat Bayern Munich (managed by Pep Guardiola) in the Semi Final 1st Leg of the 2016 Champions League.
https://partidoapartido-com.webnode.com/
Borussia Dortmund are famous for their aggressive "Gegenpressing" style of play where if they lose possession of the ball, the entire team works to win it back within 3 seconds, starting with the forwards pressing in the opponent's half of the field. Dortmund's defense begins with their offense closing down space and players quickly to limit opponents' ability to pass or change direction with the ball. The team presses together in a coordinated unit to quickly regain possession in the opponent's half.
The document analyzes Borussia Dortmund's defensive organization and transition against Borussia Monchengladbach. It describes Dortmund's use of a high block press in the first 10 minutes before dropping into a medium block. It details their pressing triggers, positioning in different phases, and coordination between players. It notes some issues like Aubameyang's positioning allowing passes into midfield and a lack of synchronization between players at times. Overall it provides a thorough tactical breakdown of Dortmund's defensive scheme in the match.
Sarri's Chelsea Positional Play - by Branko NIkovskiBranko Nikovski
油
Chelsea employs a dynamical-zonal structure with their positional play that allows them to both possess the ball and defend against counters. Their structure has zones for construction and creativity, with players positioned to progress the ball or provide passing options. Whether attacking left or right, Chelsea looks to combine through overlapping runs and one-two touches before searching for finishing options in the penalty area or changing angles of attack. Their focus is on controlling space through possession while maintaining defensive solidity.

1. The document provides a scout report on Real Madrid for the 2014/15 season, detailing their individual player characteristics, system of play, and tactical approach in offensive and defensive phases.
2. In offense, they use a fluid 4-3-3/4-3-2-1 system focused on ball possession and creating overloads in midfield through triangular formations. In defense, they transform to a compact 4-4-2 with midfielders helping to cover fullbacks.
3. Their key tactics include building attacks from the back through midfield triangles and switching play to overloading wingers or fullbacks, as well as fast offensive transitions involving their skilled front four players plus one midfielder when winning the ball high up
Borussia Dortmund uses a 4-2-3-1 formation with inverted wingers and attacking fullbacks. They press aggressively to win the ball back high up the pitch. In attack, they look to progress the ball into the space between the opponent's lines through combinations between their attacking midfielders and wingers. Their wingers cut inside to overload the center while fullbacks provide width. They can launch quick counters or work the ball into the box from out wide via cutbacks and crosses.
1) Roma uses a 4-3-3 formation as their base system and a 3-4-1-2 as their secondary system.
2) Their main challenges are handling opponents' high pressing during build up and maintaining defensive compactness without being passive.
3) They rely on quick vertical passes and attacking the space in behind defenses, but this strategy can struggle against low block teams.

FC Hellas Verona plays a 4-3-3 formation in defense that transforms to a 4-1-4-1 when losing the ball. Their style focuses on fast counterattacks and play on the wings. Key players include striker Luca Toni and wingers Iturbe and Jankovic. Their weaknesses include over-reliance on Toni for offense and difficulty defending 1v1 situations. Manager Andrea Mandorlini has helped less experienced and overlooked players succeed in Serie A through his tactical leadership.

Stefano Sensi played multiple midfield roles for Sassuolo in their 4-3-3 and 3-4-2-1 formations. In the 4-3-3, he played as a regista in front of the defense, dropping deep and distributing the ball forward, and as a central midfielder between the lines. In the 3-4-2-1, he played as a playmaker in the double pivot and as a trequartista between the lines. Sensi's tactical intelligence and technical ability allowed him to interpret different roles, demonstrating his positional polyvalence which will be important for his further development and potential transfer to bigger clubs.

Napoli play a 3-4-2-1 formation that is highly offensive. Their pressing involves Walter Gargano winning the ball in midfield while Michele Pazienza breaks up attacks. Defensively, the wingbacks cover the flanks while the center backs push up, and Edinson Cavani sometimes drops deep. In attack, long passes target the wingbacks to cross for Cavani, while the wingers move centrally to open space for crosses. Alternative attacks involve the wingers dropping deep for the ball or long passes to Ezequiel Lavezzi on the counter.
The document provides coaching guidelines for playing style, organization, and tactics. It emphasizes a possession-based style with collective build-up and individual creativity in the final third. Defensively, it advocates zonal marking with compactness and communication. The transition between attack and defense should be immediate, either continuing the attack or removing the ball from pressure.
Barcelona's defensive system relies on high pressing in the opponent's half to quickly regain possession. When Barcelona loses the ball, the closest players immediately press to win it back. The forwards actively press defenders and goalkeeper to eliminate easy passes. In their own half, Barcelona lines up in a compact 4-1-4-1 formation high up the pitch to intercept balls early. The holding midfielder acts as a libero to cover the midfield. Their aggressive defending aims to limit opponents' time on the ball. Liverpool's attacking play is characterized by speed, with their attacking actions averaging between 10-15 passes per game according to a formula that measures attacking speed. They create and exploit space well, playing many passes in behind opposing defenses each match. The main features of their game are overloading one flank to pull defenders out of position before switching play to the open flank. They look to progress the ball quickly into the final third both from open play and transitions to exploit space in behind defenses.
Arsenal's scouting report summarizes their attacking and defensive tactics, players, and recent results. Defensively, Arsenal presses high with their midfield line and leaves space behind fullbacks. In attack, they build up slowly from the back and attack primarily down the right flank. Key players include Ozil in midfield and Giroud up front. Their last match was a 0-0 draw against Stoke.

SAF introduced changes to his 4-4-2 formation including fullbacks operating with wingers down the flanks and adopting a passing style similar to Arsenal. Triggers involve fullback and winger movements to switch play to the weak side or speed up passing through the midfield to stretch the opponent. Considerable training is spent practicing these triggers and patterns.
The session focused on defending techniques like body positioning, approaching the attacker, and angling to force them in a certain direction. It started with a game to identify areas to work on, then had players practice defending in 2v1 and higher overload situations, with coaching points and rest breaks for discussion. Effectiveness in front of goal proved to be decisive
By Athanasios Terzis
Bundesligas clasico ended with Bayern as the winners. Each team tried to
dominate with its own way. Bayern was more effective in front of goal and
managed to score by taking advantage one of the few scoring chances for
both teams during the match. Dortmund didnt achieve to score the equalizer
despite the fact that during the second half had most of the possession, as
Bayern defended effectively after Lewandowskis goal.

half: Dortmund began in high tempo and pressed high, but
Bayern managed to deal with it
Dortmund: The black and yellows started with a 4-2-3-1 formation. However
as they had to deal with a three man defence, their formation during the
defensive phase was more like a lopsided 4-4-2. Klopp knew that Bayerns
strength is their domination in possession during the matches, so pressing
intensively high up the field seemed the perfect antidote. In order to achieve
this, Klopp placed Kampl in a balanced position between the wing back
Rafinha and the side defender Benatia. By this way he could create (together
with Aub/yang and Reus) a 3 v 3 situation in front, against the 3 Bayern
defenders. On the other hand Blas/wski had a more conservative role, to stay
close to the left wing back Bernat.
At the back Schmelzer had instructions to move in more advanced positions
than Sokratis did on the right. So when Kampl moved to put pressure on
Benatia, Schmelzer moved forward to mark Rafinha.
3. 息 Copyright by Athanasios Terzis 2015
This tactical beheviour demanded the good synchronizasion of both players
(Kampl and Schmelzer) as well as the effective dealing with the problems
related to the space that was created behind Schmelzer. Klopp instructed
Sokratis to stay close to the c. defenders (Subotic and Hummels) in order to
create a 3 v 2 situation at the back against the very dangerous forwards
Muller and Lew/wski. Furthermore Borussia tried to force the play towards the
side where Sokratis was positioned as he was the most defensive minded of
the two fullbacks, as well as there was a numerical superiority for the home
side on the right. The problem for Borussia was the positioning of Alonso in
front of the three. He was the free player for Bayern and moved constantly
towards the available passing options in order to receive and move the ball
forward. This aim couldnt be achieved during the first15 minutes as the
intensive pressing didnt let time and space for Bayern players to analyse the
tactical situations and make the right decisions. After the first quarter
Guardiolas team managed overcome the pressure. Dortmund tried to close
Alonso by narrowing the passing lanes towards him, mainly with Aub/yang
and Reus, but Bayern managed to move the ball towards the weak side and
to find time on the ball.

Klopp didnt want to move one of the defensive midfielders Gundogan and
Bender out of position and forward to mark Alonso, in order to avoid creating
space in front of his defence, as Lew/wski is very skillful in playing with his
back turned to goal. So by keeping both central midfielders close to the
defenders he tried to limited the space for the Polish international and block
him.
Bayern: Guardiola started with a 3-5-2 formation which enabled him to
outnumber Borussia at the back and build up from the GK. His intention was
to put pressure on Borussia defenders, force them to use long balls which the
three defenders of Bayern could easily neutralize. For maintaining safety at
the back he kept four defenders back according to the tactical situation. So
when the wing back of the strong side moved forward to put pressure on the
opposing fullback, the weak sides wing back dropped back close to the three
defenders.

When the attacking midfielder moved to put pressure on the fullback and the
wing back of the strong side was in deep position, the weak sides one didnt
have to drop very deep.
Finally the positioning of Alonso in front of the defending trio, enabled both
wing backs to move forward at the same time occasionally.

However Alonsos contribution was far more important. In occasions that both
wing backs were high and either Benatia or Dante were forced to shift towards
the side, he dropped between the defenders to ensure numerical superiority
inside the box and thus provided safety.

As regards the attacking phase, Bayern players after a hard first quarter
where they found great difficulties in moving the ball forward, they started
reading the tactical context and evaluating the weaknesses of the opposition.
First of all they managed to overcome the intensive pressing by moving the
ball quickly from the left towards the right side.

Additionally they found ways to pass the ball either to Alonso or to Lahm and
Schw/ger who dropped occasionally deeper either to receive and turn or to
play as link players and move the ball to the free defender. Next aim was the
exploitation of the space behind Schmelzer. This was done either by Muller
who tried to win the duels against the solid but not so quick Hummels or Lahm
who moved towards this space when the forward wasnt close enough to take
advantage of it.

In cases that Hummels moved at the right time to fill the gap behind
Schmelzer, the defence was stretched and there were gaps between the
defenders. Bayern forwards tried to exploit these gaps and receive a potential
pass behind the defence. The first goal scoring chance was created by this
kind of a pass towards Muller. However Muller failed to find the target after
shooting over Weid/ller.

Finally Guardiola tried to take advantage of the 2 v 2 situation in the centre of
Borussia defence. This was the part of the field that Klopp tried to secure by
creating a 3 v 2 after putting Sokratis next to Subotic and Hummels and giving
him orders to avoid moving in advanced positions. However Bayern managed
to take advantage of the situation once but Lew/wski after a combination play
with Muller was caught offside. The second time was crucial for the outcome
of the game as in an indirect positive transition for Bayern, Sokratis was a few
yards forward. Despite this fact Hummels decided to follow Lew/wskis
dropping back and left Subotic in a 1 v 1 situation against Muller. Lew/wski
managed to receive and turn despite Hummels attempt to stop him. Then the
former Borussia man found the time to pass to Muller who moved towards the
gap between Sokratis and Subotic. Muller took the shot and Lew/wski with a
header after Weid/llers save scored against his former club.

Being one goal down Borussia had to react. However despite putting heavy
pressure, they couldnt create scoring chances until the end of the first half.

2nd
half: Pressing and possession for Borussia, good
defensive organization for Bayern
The second half started the way the first half had. Borussia put a lot of effort in
pressing and gave no time on the ball to Bayern players. On the other hand
Gualdiolas team defended passively and maintained compactness between
the lines. The team restricted the spaces especially in the centre and prevent
Borussia from using combination play within the spaces between the lines.
Additionally in cases that Borussia managed to move the ball to the flanks, the
crosses werent made in the first phase and behind the defence, but after the
tall defenders of Bayern took up positions inside the box. The only way for
Borussia to create scoring chances was to find Bayerns defence unbalanced.
This could be achieved either by winning the ball high after pressing
application or by regaining possession during immediate negative transition
(counter pressing). Finally one another option was to take advantage of the
set pieces. Borussia had two chances to score the equalizer. One after a
quick negative transition where Reus failed to beat Neuer in a duel and one
after a free kick taken by the same player. The substitutes made during the
2nd
half didnt change things tactically.
Conclusion: Bayern managed to beat Borussia mainly due to the
effectiveness in front of goal. Bayern couldnt create much during the
attacking phase despite the fact that mainly in the first half they dominated
possession. On the other hand Borussia found many difficulties once again in
breaking through the oppositions compact defence and struggled to create as
the available spaces were limited. The team spent too much energy in
pressing and counter pressing but this wasnt enough to score the equalizer.
Dortmund misses Lew/wski or a player like Lew/wski, who is capable in
playing both inside and outside the box and create both in tight spaces as well
as in open play.
