Sales Change Expertise & Business Development
Douglas Huissen (1969) has a long track record in establishing and
changing sales organizations. Since 1995 he has gained vast
experience and has had successes in complex International Sales and
ICT Outsource contracts.
In 2008 Douglas has founded Dougies, with subsidiaries in Amsterdam
and Dubai that offer interim management and consultancy on change
management. His ambition is to enhance the profile of Sales as a
profession and as a core activity to every commercial organization.
At Nyenrode Business Universiteit the number 1 private business school
in the Netherlands Douglas provides lectures on Account Management
and Sales Strategies & Procurement Strategies whereby the central
theme is geared around the paradigm between Sales and Procurement.
Douglas provides lectures, workshops and coaching to as well master
(MBA) students as executives that at more progressed in their careers.
Douglas has a long background at the Telecoms industry that started
back in 1994 at Alcatel-Lucent where he was responsible for the NATO
and Min. of Defense. Later on he joined British Telecom as a Deal
Architect to deliver international sales successes with customers like
Shell, Arcelor Mittal, Philips and BASF.
In 2004 Deutsche Telekom/T-Systems asked Douglas to build and
expand their international sales organization and to close international
large outsource contracts outside the home market like Heineken, DSV
and Shell.
As an interim manager Douglas has successfully transformed the
(international) Sales organizations at T-Systems, Easynet Global
Services and British Telecom. In addition Douglas has trained and
coached many experienced sales people on Sales Strategies and
Strategic Account and Tender Management at various industries like
finance, retail, transport and FMCG’s.
More recently he was engaged in an assignment of 18 months to
successfully develop the ICT business for Latin American Telecoms
provider Inteliglobe Communications Ltd.
Douglas is currently engaged in a complex Sales change program at
Vodafone as Head of Performance and Change Northern Europe.
Douglas is a team player with a charismatic personality. His skills as a
sales professional allow him to feel comfortable in multi-lingual CxO
communication and presentations. Finally his strong personal drive and
ambition ensure success on tough challenges that exceed expectations.
