Down syndrome is caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21, causing problems with mental retardation, heart and eyesight. People with Down syndrome have distinct facial features and are usually short in stature, as babies with Down syndrome are often born smaller with fewer brain cells. Babies with Down syndrome go through cell therapy.
