NGHA HOFUF/AL AHSA KSA:
The hospital consists of 3 levels of a total area which has 300 bed-capacities and can accommodate up to
400 beds. There are 4 operating Rooms and two Day Surgery Operation Rooms, Main Pharmacy, Laboratory and VIP ward.
Provide primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services. Accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI)
Accreditation, Web Medica Acreditada, And Arab Health Award.
Highly qualified and skilled staff that implements the best of North American & European standards of Pediatric Health
Care.
* GENERAL PEDIATRICS
There are currently 27 opened beds in the Pediatric Ward, shared between General Pediatrics and Surgical specialties. The
ward is covered by eight consultants, one assistant consultant, five staff physicians and academic residents.
* PEDIATRIC STEP DOWN UNIT (PSD)
With 4 beds and covered by Pediatric Consultants, Staff Physicians, Academic Residents and nurses, this unit is fully
equipped with monitors, infusion pumps and oxygen facilities and provides intermediate care to the pediatric population.
* PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (PICU)
It is a fully functional unit with 6 beds. The unit is covered by a Consultant Pediatric Intensivist, one assistant consultant, 2
staff physicians and eleven PICU nurses.
* NEONATOLOGY SERVICES
There are 3 levels of Neonatology Services:
1. Well-Baby Nursery:
This is an admission nursery for well babies. Normal newborns are assessed initially. A second postnatal examination is
done before discharge. The Well-Baby Nursery can accommodate up to six (6) babies at one time.
2. Intermediate Care Nursery (ICN):
This is a step-down unit for premature babies, or newborns requiring further non-critical care. Currently have 15 beds
assigned for this purpose including one isolation bed.
3. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU):
This is a 10-bedded unit including one isolation bed, where critical-level monitoring and care are provided.
First hospital in Al Ahsa providing the most advanced state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care, including High Frequency
Oscillation Ventilation (HFOV) and Nitric Oxide Therapy.

The Hospital has well equipped NICU and PICU with all modern facilities and state of the art equipments. The Pediatric ward is 20 bedded with 6 beds in the PICU.
