Vijay Mallya was born in 1955 in India. He received a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine. He is married to Rekha Mallya and they have five children together. Mallya took over his father Vittal Mallya's business, UB Group, in the 1980s which includes brands like Kingfisher beer and airlines. Under his leadership, UB Group became one of the largest conglomerates in India with numerous acquisitions and 19 millionaire brands.
