Pencils and Charcoal
3 graphite pencils (only purchase HB)
1 box Alphacolor Quartet Char-Kole Square OR 2 sticks of CretaColor Chunky Charcoal
(this is the darkest charcoal used for deep shadows) do not buy compressed charcoal
1 box medium vine charcoal
1 complete set of charcoal pencils (extra soft, soft, medium)
Generals Peel and Sketch is a good brand
Please purchase a pencil you can peel as it is much easier than using an exacto blade to
sharpen. You cannot use a pencil sharpener for charcoal pencils
1 jar Generals or Cretacolor Charcoal POWDER or (2-3 people can share 1) DO NOT BUY GRAPHITE

Pens
PENS: (all black)
1 large "Magnum" sharpie pen
1 chisel tip large sharpie
1-2 fine point
1-2 ulta-fine point
1 micron (.05 mm or less) ultra-ultra fine point
2. Paper
1 medium sized pad of high quality drawing paper (at least 18x24) (higher quality paper yields richer,
smoother drawings, so it may be wise to spend a little money on this item)
STRATHMORE is the best brand. Do not purchase bond or sketch paper
