The document discusses various uses of drones by companies and individuals. It notes that Thomas Cook and EasyJet are using drones to inspect aircraft, while Boeing is developing fixed-wing and vertical take-off drones for monitoring, data collection, and other missions. The document also discusses potential uses of drones for delivery, protection, filming, and medical purposes, as well as privacy and legal concerns around drone use.

Editor's Notes
So what are companies doing now days? For exampe BOEING, boeing is a leader in aviation, they have years of expierence flying airplanes and helicopters, why not help developing drones? That is what boeing is doeing now! They invested in Sky-watch, a denish company that is specialisted in drones for monitoring huge areas (lets say hunters in afrika), but also geo-data research. This requires alot of research since the drones that are currently on the market cant fly for long periodes of times. This drone needs to be able to stay in the area for long periodes and needs to be able to fly at long range. To do this, boeing choice the Fixed-wing design.
Not only boeing is choising this design, also Google with there Project Wing.
Where boeing is developing a drone easyjet is using a drone that is inspecting their fleet of aircrafts. With heat detection cameras attached to a drone, it can scan for any leaks or weaknesses. The engineer will be able to view these weaknesses or leaks on site (by reviewing the footage) and will be able to take action.
Lets look at some more future stuff that is going to be here in a very shot time. What is hot now days? A smartwatch. Why not make a drone watch!?
So what is possible now days?
Protection drones used by the army world wide, to observe the enimy from the sky.
Attack drones by the USA
Camera drones used for filming
Delivery drones
The possibilties are endless for these drones, lets say a delivery drone for someone who forgot their toothbrush when going on vacation?
What will happen in the future?
Project wing, delevering across huge distances
Wearables
Medical drones, providing equipment in remote areas
Ban in the USA in national parks and everywhere else to disallow drone flights. This is because people are being recless, for example: someone used a drone to land on one of the heads on Mount Rushmore,
Also drones are being used to scare animals or to scare people. Also people arent aware of the consequences what a drone can do.
This is why its now banned in the states.
Alot of people are complaning about the privacy issue, in my opinion there is non.
Why not? Lets look at this example.
Here you can see an photo taken with a gopro, that is used 95% of the time on a drone, as you probably wont be able to see in the yellow outline is a plane
Lets look at example, 2 taken with a DLSR 50mm, you can (if you look very closely) see an airplane.
Now lets zoom in with 300mm. This is what is used in airplanes for aerial photography. As you can see a lot more is visable although someone from the ground wont be able to tell there is a plane flying above their heads that is taking photos.
NEXT SLIDE
So if you want to get detail and spy on people youll need a zoom lens, this is not possible on a drone. Because when you hold a camera in your hand and zoom in it will shake a lot, when you zoom out there is less vibration and it will be more stable. This is the same effect on a drone, youve to get very close to a person to spy on them. Before youre able to do this, they have or spotted you or theyve heard the drone. So privacy isnt really the issue.
Currently in holland its not allowed to fly your drone commercially unless youve a special certificates, if you have these cerfitifactes you can apply for special permits everytime you take off. So if you want to take of at place A and land at place a you need a temporary permit. If 5 minutes later you want to take of at place B you need an other permit.
The goverment is working on a drone law and this is expected 1st of june 2015.
Now lets look at a example how an old profession, the circus is using drones!
So to end this presentation some tips on how you and your company can use drones.
For example, Gogo reizen could be using drones to show their customers that you care about the latest technologie. Since young people are all about technologie it will be a good marketing stragy
Also you can use it to add a wow effect for you customers that just booked a hotel and want to show off to there relatives
Or you can use it for you name branding and a corperate video.
There will be endless more possibilties that drones can be used for.
Now lets get on to the demo!
