- 5. Maintenance Supervisor Job requirements These duties are in no particular order and not limited to. Each becomes important at various times in the range of situations a maintenance supervisor is required to handle. • Direct maintenance work force for all shifts. • Lead by example, Show how and help in repairs as necessary. • Evaluate the work performance of the maintenance personnel. • Work with the maintenance staff to develop an effective and proactive work team. • Delegate work load to the appropriate maintenance personnel • Help trouble shoot maintenance repair problems with the maintenance staff • Coordinate maintenance activities and projects with the maintenance personnel, i.e. production moves, line rearrangements, cell rearrangement, machinery relocation and installations. • Estimate cost incurred with machine installations and production cell reengagements. • Work with the purchasing department on the ordering and acquisition of repair parts for production equipment. • Synchronize the repair of equipment with the production supervisors to minimize the impact on the production schedules. • Evaluate the performance of the key equipment for the operation of the facility i.e. air compressors, boilers, etc. • Work with the PM coordinator to ensure the preventive maintenance of equipment through out the facilities. • Contact out side contractors for quotes on services for repairs on the building, machinery and other contract services • Report and inform the affected supervisors and managers to the process of the repair and the expected repair of any break downs. • Coordinate with plant management any of the maintenance activities to ensure the least amount of impact on production. 5
