- 2. How to Properly Sterilize Bottles Step One: Take bottle apart, make sure all removable pieces are set out (nipple, main part of bottle, top, collar) Make sure the bottle is washed out properly with a bottle brush. Use hot water and rid bottle of all residue
- 3. Step Two: Fill a large pot with water. Bring water to a boil Place bottle parts in water. Step Three: Allow parts to sit in boiling water for five to seven minutes. Using tongs, remove all parts from boiling water and place on clean cloth or bottle rack. Step Four: Allow parts to dry Wash Hands Thoroughly before touching sterilized bottles. Reassemble bottles. Your bottles are now ready for use to feed your baby! =) ENJOY!
- 5. Initially called eHow, wikihow was created by Jack Herrick. He saw himself building a site that was available for people in different languages, that encompassed how to manuals on every topic imaginable.On January 15th 2005 Travis wrote the first article. This article represented the rising quality standards of wikihow. For my eHow articles I chose to write a few quick how-tos for new parents to reference to in a time of need. Being a new parent can be hard, but with a calm approach many problems can be solved. I comprised my articles of the basics surrounding the care of an infant, but emphasize the importance of not rushing through any step and taking your time. eHOW, founded in March 1999, sought to provide clear instructions on how to do just about anything. Venture capitalist helped the company to raise just under $30 million, this includes General Electric and Fingerhut, just to name a few. Two years into their success the company successfully created hundreds of thousands of instructions that millions of people benefitted from using. IdeaExchange bought eHow out of its bankruptcy in 2001. Despite its efforts eHow remained unprofitable and IdeaExchange cut ties with them. Out of this, wikihow was born.In my research, the need and value of eHow and wiki-how have slowly decreased with the implementation of new means to step by step processes. Forbes produced an article that mentions the similarities between numerous articles as well as the whimsical aspect that some of these articles have. This makes people take the website in its entirety less seriously when there are unaccredited articles that people will not read.
- 6. These articles lack the ability to engage people therefore losing the return customer. Demand, a company invested in the site, is running test to remove shallow content and beefing up more popular content (Bercovici). Many companies have retreated from eHow but Demand is the most recent according to The New York Post. The company is looking to sell off eHow due to its inability to produce lucrative results. In creating my eHow articles I chose to use a topic that I had knowledge on but initially struggled with. Im not an expert on the matter, but because its subjective in some areas I believe my opinions and experience provide me with insight others will find helpful. It seems the popularity of eHow has decreased overtime. The increased amount of how-to Youtube videos or bloggers that post on a topic have put eHow out of the up in coming sites. People are much more interested in watching an interactive video rather than reading with 2-Dimensional pictures for a step by step process.
