• Check to make sure you have exhausted all of your local
resources
• Have an extensive discussion with your Dean or VP
• Have an extensive discussion with the Grants Office
• Have a solid project that meets ALL of the requirements of the
funding agency
• Have enough time in your schedule to write and review the
application. Applications can take over a month to put
together.
