Natural vegetation refers to plant communities that have grown naturally without human intervention and have not been disturbed for a long time. All plants and animals in an area are interdependent and form ecosystems. India has a variety of ecosystems called biomes defined by their vegetation and wildlife. Some of India's major vegetation types include tropical mangrove forests, rain forests, tropical deciduous forests, and tropical thorn forests. India is also rich in wildlife, with over 89,000 animal species including over 1,200 bird species and 2,500 fish species. Wildlife is classified in India as normal, critically endangered, endangered, vulnerable, rare, extinct, or endemic species. Protecting natural ecosystems is important for human survival.
3. NATURAL VEGETATION
Natural vegetation refers to a plant
community which has grown naturally
without human aid & has been left
undistributed by humans for a long time.
This is termed as a virgin vegetation.
Thus, cultivated crops and fruits,
orchards from part of vegetation but
not natural vegetation
7. All the plants & animals in an area are
interdependent & interrelated to each other
in their physical environment, thus, forming an
ecosystem. Human beings are also integral
part of the ecosystem . The human beings
utilize the vegetation and wildlife. A very
large ecosystem on land having distinct types
of vegetation & animal life is called a biome.
The biomes are identified on the basis of
plants.

8. TYPES OF VEGETATION
The following major types of vegetation
may be identified in our country-
Tropical Mangrove Forests
Rain Forests
Tropical Deciduous Forests
Tropical Thorn Forests
Mountain Forests
10. WILDLIFE
India is also rich in its fauna. It has more
than 89,000 of animal species . The country
has more than 1200 species of birds. They
constitute 13% of the worlds total. There are
2500 species of fish, which account for
nearly 12% of the worlds stock. It also
shares between 5 & 8 percent of the worlds
amphibians, reptiles & mammals.
18. CONCLUSION
All of us realize the importance of
the natural ecosystem for our own
survival. It is possible if
indiscriminate destruction of natural
environment is put to an immediate
end.
