Evidence In Motion   is an  education and consultation  company dedicated to creating and promoting an evidence-based, best practice culture  within the physical therapy profession.  Evidence In Motion
EIM¨s Premise: Clinical education courses alone typically don¨t change clinician behavior.  Consistent follow-up, observation of clinical practice, and monitoring of clinical outcomes have greater impact on behavior change. Orthopaedic manual physical therapy is a critical PT specialty from an evidence based, volume, quality, and cost perspective. Evidence supports the benefit of manual PT for many musculoskeletal conditions, especially for the growing aging population. Residency Program

EIM is privileged to be associated with a world class faculty from a variety of best academic programs and clinical practices.  The core faculty includes individuals meeting the following selected criteria: Doctorate in physical therapy (DPT, PhD, DSc) Board certification by the American Board of  PT Specialties (PhD faculty excluded) Active collaboration in ongoing clinical research Regular attendance and presentations at scientific meetings Regular clinical practice hours Membership in the APTA and active involvement in professional service Primary faculty will likely have completed fellowship training, hold at least one academic appointment, and have been awarded peer-reviewed grant funding. EIM has adopted a learning model in the belief that learning is most effective through a variety of experiences, including but not limited to: Lectures, literature review, and critique of evidence Interactive discussions with peers and faculty Guided problem solving Psychomotor training experiences Follow-up on translation of new knowledge and skills into clinical practice Self-reflection on practice patterns and clinical outcomes Program Model
The Residency Program: 18 month plan with 4 primary components: EIM Residency Core Didactics 4 core courses delivered in 6 to 8 week educational blocks These include a live onsite 15 hour weekend intensive component Topics in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Online component consisting of prepared formal coursework as well as live and recorded interactive sessions Clinical Practicum Mentored practice by an EIM credentialed clinical mentor Capstone Course: OCS Preparation Available upon completion of all other didactic coursework  Curriculum
The majority of the program¨s didactic content is delivered via internet based learning platforms: coursework interactive chat sessions streaming video/audio Program Platform
EIM¨s collaboration with FOTO includes an internet based outcomes tracking system that will ensure: consistency  data integrity  advanced analysis  & reporting Program Platform
Faculty EIM¨s principles, program directors, and core faculty are recognized leaders in the field Curriculum 18 month post-professional training program that transitions Residents from entry-level to skilled autonomous practitioners Format Online format with robust curriculum and interactive programming  Residents work in collaborative groups via online dialogue and at Sponsoring Organization sites for Weekend Intensive sessions Distributed mentoring with equipped mentors Residency Program
