A new standard for election data Based on intl OASIS EML only localises Its a just format The spec is CC0 (good!) Explain or comply for formal elections Dutch water politics excluded Closed elections (House of Lords excluded)
The data Candidates Name(s), Adres, City, Postal, DOB, Agent, Gender, Contac tdetails, Party Parties Name, party to share excess votes with Countings of voting - stations, local bureaus, -hubs , masterhubs and central voting authority per candidate Aggegrate count of all votes Results of the election
How its used in practice Its already in use for reporting election results to the nationwide election board By means of pushing final XML data to a central server Made for counting if all votes are count. The probably missed some votingstations earlier on ;-D
Enter open data When the candidates & parties are final, publish it ASAP?
Enter open data PDF 3 weeks late
Enter open data No Bulk No license Also too late
Huh? They actually phone the local governments Realtime would be nice Even better: during the counting
Wrap up We got awesome standard, lets use it! But a long road ahead and how to put it to use Speeding up publishing to RT Getting proper licenses And accessible historical data Re-use is seriously hindered
