Elliott Diggs has extensive field research experience studying wildlife populations. This includes conducting research on snake habitat use and predator-prey relationships in Alabama from 2011-2012, studying Australian freshwater turtle population structure in Queensland, Australia from 2009-2011, and supervising interns. He has presented his research findings at numerous conferences and published abstracts in Southeastern Biology.

FIELD RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Alabama A&M University Huntsville,
AL July 2011-May 2012
Conducted research and supervised two paid interns on a Masters level research project
Examining the spatial ecology, habitat use and predator-prey relationship between two snake species,
copperhead and black kingsnake (Agkistrodon contortrix and Lampropeltis getula nigra) in Normal, Moulton,
and Double Springs, Alabama.

School for Field Studies Centre for Rainforest Studies, Queensland, Australia Sep Dec 2009. Conducted
field research on Australian freshwater turtle population structure in the tropical rainforests of Queensland
Australia. Conducted research on the population structure of Australian freshwater turtles. Specifically testing
to see if sex ratios and age class ratios were independent of pools within the north Johnstone River;
measured and processed turtles captured in fall 2009; Worked collaboratively with Queensland Parks and
Wildlife Service and Threatened Species Unit of the Environmental Protection Agency and School for
Field Studies Centre for Rainforest Studies
Completion of coursework in Queensland: Rainforest Ecology, Principles of Rainforest Management,
Socioeconomics and Environmental Policy.
Guilford College, upon return completed undergraduate senior thesis paper: Examining Population Structure
in Two Species of Australian Fresh Water Turtles in the North Johnston River, Queensland.
