A multinational technology company had an extremely aggressive hiring target,
that required immediate hiring to support the launch of a new technical support
center in Japan. Due to the project being led by the global CEOs initiative, it was
high visibility and business critical. The company needed a recruitment empowering
partner that could ensure fulfillment goals were met in an especially competitive
market while managing recruitment spend but ensuring time to fill goals were met.
The project included a large volume of highly technical and complex roles which are among
the hardest-to-fill job roles in Japan, so the company needed a recruitment empowering
partner with an extensive network of candidates and proven Japan based sourcing
and recruiting expertise.
Our Solution
The RPO solution combined full-time onsite resources augmented with our parent
companies proven sourcing channels and other Japan based proven sourcing
methodologies to maximize candidate generation and client branding.
To address the nature of the high volume requirements while ensuring streamlined
program management and internal communication, en Power deployed a senior
bilingual RPO professional and two sourcing specialists. The majority of the companys
end-to-end recruitment execution activities were handled onsite, and backed by hands
on program delivery support and strategy design by en Powers delivery management
team, allowing the onsite staff to focus on pure execution. This included development
of an action plan to increase internal referrals, direct sourcing activities and an assessment
of existing vendor relationships to ensure budget goals were met. Additionally, to reduce
reliance on agencies and agency spend, a large focus was put upon direct sourcing
initiatives that leveraged the en Groups proven sourcing channels and expertise. This
proved to be both cost-effective and efficient in finding the right talent in a very short
period of time. These kinds of on-demand proven in-country resources were not available
within other RPO providers, so the client saw immediate value add in en Powers resources
and services.
Project Results
En Powers team has delivered upon extremely aggressive fulfillment deadlines which included
overall cost reduction, while ensuring time to fill goals and quality of hire. This includes:
- Successfully partnered closely with the business and in-house talent acquisition team to streamline the hiring process which drastically
improved the interview cycle and conversion ratios, while also improving and the internal referral program
- Rapid turn-around in sourcing, with the first placement made within under a month of starting the RPO program
- The internal referral program now accounts for 37 percent of all placements
- Successful re-education and re-evaluation of all agency vendors
- Significant cost reduction with 70% coming from direct channels with agency utilization managed at 30% which was significantly lower than
projected recruitment budget spend
- Since the programs kickoff in mid-November 2017, 61 roles have been filled by the onsite project team
