Energy cannot be destroyed and exists in many forms including light, sound, thermal, kinetic, chemical, and electrical. Thermal energy produces heat from sources like the sun or radiators converting electricity. Kinetic energy comes from moving objects powered by other types of energy like chemical from food or electricity from car engines. Different forms of energy can be converted from one to another through various means.

TYPES OF ENERGY There are many types of energy. LIGHT ENERGY SOUND ENERGY THERMAL ENERGY KINETIC ENERGY CHEMICAL ENERGY ELECTRICAL ENERGY
ELECTRICAL ENERGY We use electrical energy everyday. Light bulbs use electrical energy.
THERMAL ENERGY Thermal energy produces heat. The Sun produces thermal energy. A radiator turns electric energy into thermal energy.
Sound Energy • Sound energy produces sound. • Anything that makes a sound has sound energy.
• When we walk we produce sound energy. • A radio turns electrical energy into sound energy
KINETIC ENERGY Moving things have kinetic energy. When we ride a bike we turn the chemical energy from the food we eat into kinetic energy.
• A car engine turns chemical energy into kinetic energy.
LIGHT ENERGY Traffic lights produce light energy. The Sun produces light energy. A bulb turns electrical energy into light energy. •
CHEMICAL ENERGY Food contains chemical energy. Our body turns this energy into thermal or kinetic energy.
