1. The founder of Yummy Kitchen is the owner herself, which is Kellen Law Wai Loon, from
Ipoh. She was the one who decided to open the shop and follow her dream, which is baking.
Her hobby was baking and she even started baking since she was 12 years old. And here she
is now, owning a bakery of her own.
The motives that she wants to achieve is to open more branches in a few areas around Ipoh
and then maybe in the city. She also wants to create more homemade organic recipes of her
own and share her successful recipe with everyone. Besides, she would also want to change
the location and open a bigger bakery as her main store in Ipoh due to the small space of her
current bakery. She would want more space so she could increase and sell more products of
her own. Moreover, due to the lack of workers and baking appliances have caused her
business to slightly slow down. Therefore, to improve and increase her business, she also
wants to hire more workers and get more utensils and baking appliances for store.
Her recent development is the Ciabatta bread. The Ciabatta bread can also be known as
Panini. I’m sure everyone has heard of Panini before. The Ciabatta bread is an Italian white
bread made from wheat flour, water, salt, olive oil, and yeast. But the special part of Yummy
Kitchen’s Ciabatta bread is that it is completely sugar-free and yeast-free. Her recent organic
development was created around end of December 2014. Apparently this is the latest recipe
which is sold in her shop today.
2. As for Yummy Kitchen, there are no competitors so far in Ipoh. Yummy Kitchen is the only
bakery that sells not only homemade organic bread and cakes, but also organic ingredients for
baking, baking utensils and also cooking. Basically it’s kind of a win-win situation because
through what she have observed, the other bakeries in Ipoh are usually only selling normal
pastries like what normal bakeries do where else Yummy Kitchen has both. This doesn’t only
attract the young bakers and parents, but also the people who wants to buy organic
ingredients for their home cook food.
