This instructional plan outlines an English lesson for 8th grade students from June 10-14, 2013. The theme is "Searching for Knowledge". The objectives include using literature to understand human experiences, using non-linear texts and outlines, asking sensible questions, gathering data from libraries and online sources, writing informative articles about culture and values, and expressing different opinions respectfully. On Monday, students will understand cont'd activities from the textbook. Throughout the week, they will analyze essays, use a graphic organizer, and read periodicals to achieve the objectives. On Thursday and Friday, students will write drafts and finalized informative articles about selected African and Asian countries to demonstrate their learning. Differentiated activities are provided for varying ability levels.
