English has had a significant influence on the Malayalam language in Kerala in several areas: 1. Many English words are used in administrative language and measurements. Words like "parliament", "cabinet", "collector", and measurements terms are commonly used. 2. English words are used to refer to building infrastructure and dress codes. Words like "chimney", "balcony", "shirt", and "pant" have been adopted. 3. Abbreviations in Malayalam are influenced by English. Examples include abbreviations for transportation organizations. 4. Place names have been influenced by English, with some places adopting anglicized versions of their names.

- 5. English is the window through we look at the world. If we look at job vacancies we often find that the major condition put forth is Candidates should be fluent in English.
- 6. Administrative level It is a fact that the administrative register of malayalam includes a lot of loan words from English .Here are some example: Parliament , Assembly, Cabinet secretory,Collector,Revenue,peon,etc.
- 7. Measurement The English words Such as Ounce, Pound , Quarter , Ton, Kilogram , etc are used to imply the measurements in malayalam.
- 8. Building/Infrastructure words The English words like Chimney, Balcony, shed, Pipe are used to refer to the infrastructure of buildings and construction.
- 9. Dress code There are a lot of loan words from English used in Malayalam to express various social activities and practices . As cultural code dress sense could express the social attitudes of speech community; shirt ,pant, collar,tie,coat,etc are frequently used English words to refer to various garments worn by malayaees.

Even today the presence and influence of English language and culture on Malayalam is constantly felt every where .
