This lesson plan aims to teach learners about reading academic texts and summarizing various disciplines. The objectives are for learners to find the importance of summarizing texts and write summaries of texts from different disciplines. The lesson proper motivates learners by having them read the Philippine Constitution's language section and discuss a legal indictment text. Learners will identify the language used, decide if it is commonly used, and summarize findings and statements in plain language. How about the language we use in communication? The teacher will let the learners read the Philippine Constitution, Language. 1. Are the words in the Constitution commonly used in everyday conversation? 2. Are the sentences simple in structure? 3. What is the main idea of this article? 4. Paraphrase the article. B.2 Activity The teacher will divide the class into four groups, and they will discuss the Legal Indictment on page 35 of their textbook. They will answer the following and report to the class on what they have discussed. 1. What type of language used in the selection? 2. Is the language commonly used in the ordinary communication? 3. In plain language, share your findings about the decisions of the Jurors.
