Historical Background
•The location of this mural painting used to be an old, dirty very quiet kind of alley.
•Recently, the Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) has made an initiative to change the alley into
a commercial place which is safe, clean and beautiful and can be visited by many people.
•Making the place beautiful was the idea, therefore, a painting competition been held with four
different types of category in it.
•The category are 3D painting, 3D installation, Street Furniture and Painting on Site.
•These paintings has to be related to the category as well as the theme, which is ‘Shah Alam
Community’, ‘Tourist Attraction’ and ‘Green Concept’.
The Layout
This Laman Seni is located at the back alley. Therefore, the layout of every paintings are based
on the buildings that existed before that.
It involves 56 buildings.
The paintings are painted at the back of the shop lots.
People who come here could go shopping and take pictures at the same time.
This place attracts our local citizen as well as the tourists.
The placing of the mural paintings are next to each other.
Types of Mural Paintings
3D Paintings
These paintings are bright and colorful.
It has that 3D effect where they put real umbrellas.
3D Installation
This mural painting is more like a machine kind of painting.
The painting are dragged to the tiles adding more life to the picture.
Street Furniture
The street furniture might also be furniture that are arranged in the alley.
But these people has added creativity to it, to stick it up on the wall.
Painting on Site
This painting symbolizes parks that are connected to the beach.
You can see it through the tree barks.
3D Painting
The plates are colored and decorated with bright colors and detailed decorations to make it interesting.
It is then hung up on the wall.
MH370 Painting
This painting is as a tribute from the people to the plane that went missing.
