Who would be the
audience for your
media product?
Our Target Audience
When we started we had a primary target audience of teenage boys
between 15-19, then we decided our film should be rated a 15 based
upon the BBFC. We chose the younger audience as we could relate to
it and put in what we would want to see but also because horror are
more appealing towards teenagers.
Our target audience is also the primary target audience for a lot of
supernatural horrors such as Sinister and the Possession.
A secondary target audience would be young adults aged 20-35. This
is because they would be able to watch our film because of the age
rating and that horrors would still appeal to them as they have grown
up watching them and are used to the advances in technology.
BBFC?
The BBFC is the British Board of Film Classification. It is and
independent company set up on 1912 and has been classifying
films since 1984 when the Video Recordings Act was passed. It is
a non profit business and serves to only classify films.
BBFC?
The BBFC offers a set of ages which
they classify their films by and what
they mean. There is a specification
by which each film is assessed and
put into a category depending on the
violence, graphic images or strong
language.
