Before the Vikings arrived, early Irish people used a barter system to trade goods, where various farm animals had established values in exchange. For example, six hens were equal to the value of one sheep. Cattle were considered more valuable than sheep or pigs. The Vikings brought coins and engaged in trade, introducing currency to Ireland. They became so wealthy that the Irish Vikings began minting their own coins. Northern Ireland later established its own bank notes as legal tender.

The children researched 3D shapes in their city and chose to model the Stormont Building in Belfast. They determined the Stormont Building has the shape of a giant cuboid. Using a scale of 1cm to 2m, the children created 50cm by 15cm cardboard models of Stormont backed with white paper to resemble its portland stone material. Working in groups, they added details like windows and doors to their 3D Stormont models.
The Giant's Causeway formed from a volcanic eruption around 60 million years ago. As lava slowly oozed from the earth and began cooling, cracks formed in hexagonal shapes. As the lava further cooled, these cracks transformed into tall, hexagonal basalt pillars. There are over 38,000 columns that make up the Giant's Causeway. Legend says it was once a pathway between Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Saint Vincent de Paul Primary School is located in Northern Ireland. The school was established in the 1850s and has since expanded. Originally, the school had one large room and housed teachers. In the early 1900s, children as young as 12 worked long hours in mills, sometimes without shoes. Over time, laws changed to protect children and reduce working hours. Today, the school has 260 students and a nursery. It aims to teach children about their rights. The school plans to move to a new building in 2019 with more classrooms, technology, and outdoor space.
Enrolment at Ligoniel Primary School grew steadily from 93 pupils in 2003 to 185 pupils in 2015 and 2016. Battle of Bookworms is a literature quiz organized by Pragya, UEM Kolkata, as part of their cultural fest Ecstasia. Curated by quizmasters Drisana Bhattacharyya, Argha Saha, and Aniket Adhikari, the quiz was a dynamic mix of classical literature, modern writing, mythology, regional texts, and experimental literary forms. It began with a 20-question prelim round where star questions played a key tie-breaking role. The top 8 teams moved into advanced rounds, where they faced audio-visual challenges, pounce/bounce formats, immunity tokens, and theme-based risk-reward questions. From Orwell and Hemingway to Tagore and Sarala Das, the quiz traversed a global and Indian literary landscape. Unique rounds explored slipstream fiction, constrained writing, adaptations, and true crime literature. It included signature IDs, character identifications, and open-pounce selections. Questions were crafted to test contextual understanding, narrative knowledge, and authorial intent, making the quiz both intellectually rewarding and culturally rich. Battle of Bookworms proved literature quizzes can be insightful, creative, and deeply enjoyable for all.
