1. What have you learnt
about technologies from
the process of
constructing this product?
2. With the world we live in today’s technology provides a far more effective
method of communication than the communication that there would be
without the use of technology. For film institutions their target is simple they
want to produce film that will guarantee success and that is only possible
by making use of advanced technology.
To be honest, when I started working on my
media product, I didn’t know much. But in
the process of making my credits I
automatically learnt a lot. Firstly I learnt how
to handle a tripod which I never used
before. After using this I realized that it kept
my camera straight and not shaky, also I
could set it at the right height. The tripod
helped me in steady paning and tilt shot. It
allowed me to be more versatile with my
camera like taking different kind of shots and
angles. Hence, it brought a stable look to my
film.
3. Before taking media studies I
hardly use a DSLR before but I
start getting to know about its
functions and features through my
media assignments, and so in my
preliminary video I was pretty sure
about everything.The use of my
Canon 600D helped me to make
HD videos with clear sound and
bright colour as compared to
ordinary cameras. Its 18
megapixel CMOS sensor, on
screen feature guide and up to
3.7fps continuous shooting make
my moviemaking easier.
4. Other than that technology has
helped me in the form of editing
software used. I used Adobe CS6. It
was a completely new experience
for me and I enjoyed it a lot. Before
editing, we were taught how to use
this software by our teacher. I learnt
how to cut videos, put transitions,
improve the audio and video quality,
use different effects, and make titles.
I used Any Video Converter for
converting my rushes to MP4.
5. I make use of both
computer and laptop. To
be on a save side I make
use of Universal Serial Bus
(USB) so I can easily store
and transfer my data to
both computer and laptop.
If I wanted to go
somewhere, I can easily
carry my laptop. Moreover
it is not dependent on
electricity like computer.
6. Another very important technology is mobile phone
which helped me to communicate with my actors,
inform them at what time they are supposed to reach
the location and how they should be prepared. It also
allowed me to contact my teacher if I face any
difficulty during shoot or wanted to consult her
regarding anything related to my film. Moreover
Android phones are more helpful as Facebook, What
Sapp, Viber make communication with my teacher and
actor more easier.
Networking site like Facebook is really helpful as I posted
my film’s link there to get instant feedback. I even
uploaded my film rushes on Vimeo. Google drive help
me in making questionnaire and make it easier to be
filled out by a large audience. I made use of different
copyright sites to select a suitable instrumental music for
my film.
7. In our first class of media we
were asked to make our blogs
on WordPress, which introduce
our self to the world. Here I
post my assignments, all the
research , pre-production, and
post production work. I never
used WordPress before and
initially found it difficult,
especially how to link or
embed videos but working on
my media product helped me
to understand.
