The combination of the main production and ancillary tasks was effective. The opening sequence for the local news program featured footage filmed in Oxford and established the program's focus on the city. Stories from the main production were also used in the opening sequence. Additionally, the website complemented the television program by providing in-depth written reports and pictures that corresponded to the news stories discussed in the main production. This allowed the two elements to work in parallel.

1. Evaluation Question 2.
How effective is the
combination of your main
product and ancillary
tasks?
2. Main Production & Opening
Sequence
My main production piece was based on producing a local news programme
based on where I am from in Oxford, tackling latest news close to home and
important issues. The opening sequence focuses on showing local and popular
places in Oxford while a theme tune plays at the start with the Oxford Logo
flashing in. It is very effective that the Main Production feeds into the opening
sequence as some of the raw footage I filmed fits nicely into the beginning of
the opening sequence. Another effective use I have got out of both of them is
the stories I have used also are used at the beginning showing me on location
and reporting, with fellow reporters.
3. Main Production & Website
The main production obviously evolves around the TV news scene so it
was important that the website I was going to do would be about the
topic I was doing for my main production. The combination of both
the main production and website worked out really well as I knew
what to write about on the site and pictures. The pictures/videos &
writing on the website was about the topics which were talked about
in my production so they worked parallel with each other which was
good. Also very effective was the final video had talked in more detail
about the newas stories which I had wrote an in-depth report on the
website.
