Lionsgate Entertainment would be the best media institution to distribute the thriller film because they have extensive experience distributing successful thriller genres. Lionsgate has distributed thriller films like Texas Chainsaw 3D ($47 million) and American Psycho ($34 million) that prove they understand the thriller genre and how to ensure films' financial success. Additionally, Lionsgate's similar film My Bloody Valentine about relationships and death that made over $102 million worldwide shows that a thriller with close thematic links could also be highly successful if distributed by Lionsgate.

? It is important to identify and choose the correct institution to create and distribute a film because and audience may have prior thoughts of the company and may have certain expectations of it. A distributor may be focused on a certain genre e.g. New Line Cinema which would be expected to show thriller/action films where as, Pixar Studios would be expected to show animation films aimed at children. Also, popular, institutions tend to have loyal audiences which is why it is important to pick large companies to gain viewers. This helps the audience have an immediate understanding of what genre your film will be.
? To distribute our thriller we have decided to pick Lionsgate Entertainment. This is because this institution has distributed many thriller films with a lot of past experience. For example, a thriller film from this company is Texas Chainsaw 3D which has made $47,241,945. Lionsgate have a strong reputation which will boost our thrillers reputation also.
? Lionsgate Entertainment has also made other thriller films such as American Psycho which made $34.3 million and My Bloody Valentine 3D which made $102.7 million worldwide. These films prove that Lionsgate re trustworthy and will ensure the success of our thriller. My Bloody Valentine is similar to our thriller as it is about relationships and death. This film was extremely successful which ensures that our thriller will also be due to the close links.
