What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
Questionnaire Analysis
Majority of people who answered my survey
were females.
Most of them were people aged 16-19; close
to the target audience of 16-30 years olds.
I found out that people were fairly regular in
consuming films of the horror genre. It was
expected to have people watch films more
often than when horror films out meaning
many people had a great interest. I
understood that horror films were still
popular and was a daily encounter with
many of out target audience and beyond.
Those within this target age of 16-30 year
old had dispensable income either from
parents or from work. This was the age to
also socialise much more than other age
groups through films and going to the
cinema.
Horror Genre
Many people liked the idea of a supernatural film with
gothic second most popular followed by gore. It was clear
to me that from the age group I sampled for a survey
would most likely in the real world would go to watch the
trailer of the subgenre of horror of my project.
I found out people liked a less extreme subgenre of
horror than those with explicit clips like gore. Due to the
age group, not many liked an animated horror film. One
person never watched films so they could not chose an
option except for other.
Most people liked it when there was a twist in the ending
of a horror film. I expected to see more liking an original
plot however some have commented that an original plot
sometimes meant to them a less popular style of film;
some that might be eccentric. People generally went with
the typical style of film with a big budget to fund props,
realistic sets and famous actors and actresses. From the
fact that most only wanted a small change of plot at the
end, there was less of an importance to the budget of film
but rather the plot of a film. My group¡¯s trailers plot is
unique therefor a twist a the end was likely and would
appeal to my target audience.
