The document discusses the target audience for a media product based on research conducted through a questionnaire. Most of the questionnaire respondents were teenagers and young adults aged 13-25, so the author decided to target this age group. Additionally, since more males enjoyed the thriller genre, the author chose to target males slightly more than females. The target demographic is also the C2DE group, especially the E classification of casual laborers, unemployed, and pensioners living on basic benefits, in line with the teenage focus of the media product.

Who would be the audience for your media product? Before producing my media product I have conducted a questionnaire for my research. 17 out 30 people (56.67%) were age 13-25, this age group includes teenagers and young adults. Since more than half of the questionnaire was answered by teenagers and young adults I decided to target them. It was easy to target teenagers/young adults because as a teenager who is entering young adulthood I have a similar perspective as other teenagers and young adults and so I tried to make my media products as if I am targeting myself.
The genre of my film is the Thriller genre thus I am appealing to and targeting fans of this genre. 15 out of 30 people who answered my survey were male, 86.67% said that they like the thriller Genre, out of that figure 60% were male and 26% were female. From this data I decided to appeal to males in my media product, in addition to that I decided to target males more than females. I couldn't just target males because that way it would decrease my market, and so as my media product appeals a bit to women this way my audience base is larger than if I was to just target males- the more the audience the larger the revenue.
C2DE demographic profile: C2 Skilled manual workers e.g. electrician, carpenter D Semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers e.g. assembly line worker, refuse collector, messenger E Casual labourers, pensioners, unemployed e.g. pensioners without private pensions and anyone living on basic benefits. Since I am appealing to teenagers I am therefore also appealing to the C2DE demographic, to be precise the E demographic profile. Thus I am also targeting the C2DE demographic, due to my teenage actors and complex narrative I am not appealing to the elderly and older adults and so I am not targeting the ABC1 demographic. Although pensioners are part of the E demographic I am not targeting them in any way.
So who would be the audience of my product? Teenagers. Young Adults. Males. C2DE demographic. Especially the E demographic. Fans of Thriller films. Fans of 'Inception' and Predestination' (Films that are similar to my media product). Audience that like the build up of tension and suspense and the creation of anticipation.
