This document describes the development and validation of the EVEM scale, which is used to assess the integrity of motivational interviewing delivered in primary health care settings. It discusses the scale undergoing face, content, and consensus validity testing with experts over three rounds. It also describes the scale undergoing refinements and being tested for inter-rater reliability, internal consistency, and factor analysis. The document concludes by discussing using the scale to evaluate training in motivational interviewing delivery and finding it can reliably distinguish interviewing skills.
