This document summarizes an exhibitionist building located in Los Angeles. It is designed to promote social interaction in public spaces and generate relationships among residents and visitors. The building ignores stereotypes by taking a progressive monument-inspired shape rather than a rectangular one. Each unit within provides unique living spaces, and amenities of a hotel are offered. The building's inception began by sorting individual cube units of residents by attributes, which were then combined to form the unusual overall structure oriented around wind and sun access.

This project promotes interactive
relations and encourage
encounter in the shared public
space that varies throughout the
section. It is designed to create
public exterior spaces that will
constantly generate relationships;
functioning as social condensers in
a spatial experience of city life to
both residents and visitors.
2. The project uses the progressive-minded
shape of a monument for its inspiration,
completely ignoring the existing
stereotypes that apartment structures are
most operationally effective if they are
rectangular or square in form. This
building will carry this same open-
mindedness towards shape and form
throughout each unit, providing a unique
spatial living space for every resident. The
inside of the building will have a
sophisticated hotel/apartment
atmosphere in which room service and
other amenities normally reserved for
larger hotels are offered for the
convenience of the inhabitants.
The inception of the building began with
identifying and creating individual cube
units that broke down the residents along
lines of gender, age, ethnicity and
background. The separate units were
then arbitrarily sorted and amalgamated
together to create and form the
monumental shape of the structure. The
placement of the units was also governed
by wind direction and sun orientation to
make the most of the natural elements of
this site’s environment. The units
surround a large central communal space
that can be employed as a gallery or an
exhibition area.
This building will attract open-minded
residents who wish to experience a living
structure that reflects their own unique
talents in its extreme and innovative
structure.
