In an experiment conducted by girls at leiksk坦linn furugrund in Iceland during 2011-2012, organic materials like banana, apple, and paper were buried alongside non-organic materials such as aluminum, glass, and plastic to observe decomposition over time. Upon excavation in April 2012, it was found that the organic materials had decomposed while the non-organic materials remained intact. The project concluded with a message urging others not to dispose of non-organic materials in nature.
