Crime is a major issue in Mexico, with 13 of the world's 50 most dangerous cities located there. Common crimes include domestic violence, assault, kidnapping, rape and murder. Weapons such as AK-47s, M-16s, shotguns and pistols are frequently used. Poverty, unemployment, inequality and family dysfunction are factors that contribute to Mexico's high crime rates. Punishments for crimes include fines, prison time, and in some cases, the death penalty.

A set of acts against the law, established by law and deserving of punishment by society, to varying degrees. It could also be defined as conduct by a person or persons that do not mach those required in a given society, that vigilant against the laws of that company.
