2. This is what the school intends to give every pupil in our school:
To offer every pupil indiscriminately the best and most relevant bilingual
education and to create an open society which respects the
standpoints, aspirations and hopes of all those who are part of the
school.
3. All pupils in the school learn English, Welsh and a modern foreign language
which is either French or German. Therefore most of the pupils in the school
are tri-lingual even though some can not speak Welsh.
4. The school is situated in the town of Menai Bridge in the south of the Isle of
Anglesey in North Wales. Wales is in the east of Britain in the north east of
Europe.
6. Fair-trade is very important in David Hughes we buy fair trade products to sell in school
therefore David Hughes is a Fair-trade school. David Hughes is in the town Menai Bridge
which is one of few fair trade towns in Wales and most of the products in Menai Bridge
are fair-trade.
7. Physical Education
Physical education is very important in our school, both boys and girls take part
competing against each other. Sometimes the boys and girls will take part
together in team games and challenges in order to win competitions. Physical
education is essential in Wales in order to lower obesity in children.
9. David Hughes began as a state
comprehensive school in Beaumaris in
1603, it¡¯s insignia is a ship with the English
lions on it, it is in white surrounded by a
black background with the words Albam
Exorna, which means Keep the Shield White.
