Scootering around Columbus? Dr. Eric Adkins and Dr. Nick Kman
have the tips you need to stay injury-free. #FirstAidFriday
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center 揃 3:44 Hi Karen - Don't
worry, Dr. Adkins was our example of what not to do when you ride electronic
scooters. You'll also notice that Dr. Adkins is wearing a backpack while riding
his scooter, which we don't recommend people do either. You should always
wear a helmet when riding an electric scooter (or bike).
First Aid Friday Live #BestPractices
 1. Test out live video using the "Only me" privacy setting. Think about
lighting and audio.
 2. Space out live videos with other Facebook posts.
 3. Keep reintroducing yourself and remind folks what the session is.
 4. Make the video visually engaging (setting, props, guests, action).
13
First Aid Friday Live #BestPractices
 5. Make it spontaneous (after you have pre-planned).
 6. Don't worry about mistakes or stutters (I try to do this relatively
unscripted).
 7. Encourage viewers to Like and share the video. Build interest by
letting everyone know that it is coming!
14

laptop computer (Thanks Alexis and Kelly!).
 10. Subtitle your broadcast in the comments section.
 11. Ask viewers to subscribe to Facebook Live notifications.
15
First Aid Friday Live #BestPractices
 12. Broadcast for at least 10 minutes.
 13. Say goodbye before ending your video.
 14. Add a link to the description later. Then use social media to promote
the session.
 15. Analyze, Analyze, Analyze: Minutes viewed and people reached are
just a few of the metrics available. Critical numbers like audience
retention can help you plan for future broadcasts.

 #FirstAidFriday: Stop The Bleed Day
Dr. Nick Kman and Cindy Nagel, associate director of trauma at
#OSUWexMed, are here for a special edition of #FirstAidFriday - on a
Thursday - for Stop the Bleed Day.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center 揃 One additional
note from our experts: tourniquets come in black and orange - the best
option is called a CAT tourniquet. Be careful to buy them from a
reputable source. If the tourniquet is blue, it is intended for training.
