McAuley FBLA strives to be the most influential organization at their school. They recruit new members through presentations at local middle schools and meet and greets for current and new members. Their use of technology like Facebook and text messaging helps keep members informed about events and fundraisers. They advertise their first meeting through intercom announcements and posters to make sure all students are aware of the opportunity to join FBLA.

- 1. Recruitment of Members and Chapters Each year McAuley FBLA strives to be the most influentialand beneficial organization at our school. Junior High Recruitment Four officers were led by our advisor, Mr. Bromley,to St. Peters Middle School to recruit 8th graders with an FBLA presentation. The presentation provided reasons to join FBLA, highlighting the lifelong benefits and the opportunity of a fun, memorable time. After the presentation, the recruiters mingled with the 8th graders making themselves available to answering more in depth questions. Three freshmen recruited from last year won 1st place in their events at districts and many more are enthusiastic to continue their high school careers being an involved and influential member in the school chapter. Meet and Greet To kick off the 2nd year of FBLA at McAuley as well as the upcoming school year a meet and greet was held on August 18, 2011 for current members as well as new members. The purpose of the event was to inform anyone who was appealed in committing themselves to FBLA. Students as well as parents were greeted by a FBLA officer or Mr. Bromley who gladly shared information about the upcoming years plans and answered any questions. Every student was invited, which resulted in a 50% membership increase. The Meet and Greetssuccess inspired officers to make it an annual event to ensure the continuation FBLA. Technology The use of technology has helped keep members in touch about dates, times, and events through various sources such as Facebook, text messaging, and an internet site. Facebook along with the internet site are used to inform not only members, but advertise important fundraisers like the Jack Frost Run and Dodgeball Tournament. By using these sources McAuley FBLA is exposed into the community to be enjoyed by everyone. Text messages are an efficient way to send and forwardmessages to members as reminders for upcoming activities to ensure good attendance. Advertising McAuleys first FBLA meeting was advertised every morning and afternoon on the school wide intercom announcements for the first week of school. Informative posters were also crafted in the summer by officers to hang up in the school hallways for the first couple weeks of school. The purpose of this
