I was involved in providing software quality assurance and testing the Symphony product a market
leading Emergency and unscheduled care IT system providing benefits to patients, clinicians and trust
managers in the UK and Australia. Symphony supported everyday practices of the Emergency
departments and matched the workflows to data collection processes. The Ascribe Symphony system
fully supported the delivery of all the complex information needs for emergency departments including
the delivery of information to support the Department of Health Quality Indicators for Accident &
Emergency Departments: Environment: MS SQL 2008, Visual C++, IE
Accomplishments :
i) Was promoted to a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst within 2 years from an entry
level position of Junior Software Quality Assurance Analyst
ii) Tested various functionalities in line with National Health Services UK requirements
ensuring patient data is captured and processed accurately
iii) Monitored upgrades of the system remotely for various hospitals with over 500 computer
terminals ensuring minimal disruption and identifying recommendations to improve
performance
iv) Facilitated functional review meetings with design, QA and support teams to ensure
agreements on user requirements
v) Spearheaded documentation of training manuals for the system with every upgrade with
introduction of new functionality
vi) Introduced documentation and creation of Software Release Notes detailing bugs and new
features released for assisting the implementation and support teams.
vii) Spearheaded creation of knowledge base shared platform of various recurring configuration
issues and how to resolve them which acted as a reference point for the team leading to
quick resolution of configuration issues reported.
