OBJECTIVES:
 To enable students to behave appropriately in a certain social situation.
 To involve emotions in the learning experience.
 To increase students awareness of different cultures.
 To develop the liberality towards non native cultures.
 To strengthen students Internet, research and organization skills.
 To teach students the skills of independent work habits.
 To teach students to work effectively with others
TASK/FUNCTIONS:
 To improve vocabulary related to the topic. (the vocabulary depends on the
chosen festival)
 To develop speaking skills:

 To increase the ability to perform communicative functions:

SESSION 1
This session takes place in the computer room since the students are going to use the
computers for doing some research.
1-Warm-up. Discussion about festivities. Do you like to celebrate them? Which is your
favourite one and why? (5min)
2-Brainstorming. Which festivities and celebrations do you know in the English
speaking countries? (5min)
3-Work group. In groups of three, you are going to search information about the given
festival in the links below. (30min)

4-After collecting all the information, you have to prepare a short presentation of your
festivity for the rest of your classmates using a power point. (15 min at the computer
room and the rest at home)
SESSION 2
This session begins with the presentations of each celebration. (7x5=35 minutes)
5-After the presentation you will have five minutes to discuss with your group which
of the presentations you like the most and why.
6-Homeworks. You must write an individual composition of which presentation you
like the most and why as you have just done with your group mates.
