- 8. Timeline Continued Boat is decontaminated on April 27 with 140 degree hot water in all areas where standing water existed. Utah drafts a letter certifying the boat as clean and notifies states and provinces of the release. Fiesta Queen is released on May 8.

- 10. Estimated Costs Approx. $6000.00 Storage at Aramark paid by the boat owner. Division equipment and personnel costs in excess of $12,000.00 Does not include lab costs and time and effort by NPS and others.
- 11. Lessons Learned A cooperative Boat Owner made all the difference. Preplan for the potential interdiction of a large vessel.(Storage, decontamination issues etc.) Boat Haulers in this case were not concerned about the threat. The current Network of notification is good and getting better as we go.

- #5: Parks service personnel see the boat sitting on the side of the road just inside Utah and observe what they believe are quagga mussels. They are waiting for oversize permits from Utah Department of Transportation. In the meantime Amy Ferriter had tracked down the boat haulers contact info and Larry Dalton was able to talk to them at the scene. Law enforcement responds. Aramark not enthusiastic about working with us or the hauler on storage due to past experiences with this particular hauler.
