Rogue Pictures was formed in 1997 as a division of PolyGram Pictures to distribute films with mainstream appeal and franchise potential, such as Orgazmo and Thick as Thieves. In 2000, Universal Pictures bought PolyGram and dropped the Rogue Pictures name. In 2004, Universal revived the name as part of Focus Features. Focus Features acts as both a producer and distributor of art house films and foreign films, distributing films like Brick, Hot Fuzz, and One Day. Warner Bros. is a major producer and distributor of films, television, and music, distributing big budget films like Gravity, The Great Gatsby, and We Are the Miller. - 8. Our Final choice Our Film Noir group decided that we would go for Focus Features if we could use and institution. We would have chosen this because of the type of films that they have already distributed, (For example Brick) are in the same genre as our Film Noir, and are very successful in the film world.
