COURSE OUTLINE The following topics in detail will be covered during the programme. Historical Background Mathematical Modelling of field problems in Engineering. Discrete and continuous models. Boundary, Initial and Eigen Value problems Weighted Residual Methods. Ritz Technique. General form of total potential for 1-D applications . Development of shape functions and element equations. Structural mechanics applications in 2-dimensions & elasticity equations. One dimensional heat transfer element. Consistent mass matrics element equations. Software Training. Resource Persons from IIT, NIT, MIT and other reputed Engineering Colleges ABOUT THE PROGRAMME The objective of this programme is to present the concept and applications of Finite Element Method. Participation in this programme will be helpful in teaching the subject AE2351 & ME2353 Finite Element Method and Finite Element Analysis for the 6th semester B.E (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Civil, Production and Automobile Engineering) students. PROGRAM CERTIFICATES Participation certificates will be issued to the candidates who attend the program in full, by the Center for Faculty Development, Anna University, Chennai-25.
