This document provides a final design analysis for an Ender's Game book cover. The designer is unsure if the abstract, asymmetrical style fits the brief but notes it could be seen positively as unique. An uncommon color scheme of greens and yellows was chosen to complement the style rather than typical sci-fi oranges and blues. The clean line art works well with textured brush strokes to make the cover eye-catching. While the lips could be improved, overlaid text in the background adds interest.

1. Final Design Analysis
This is my 鍖nal design for my LWL Ender兵s Game cover. I兵m still a little undecided whether the style
of the design 鍖ts well as a LWL cover. It is a style that hasn兵t been seen on a LWL cover to my
knowledge, which can be perceived as a good thing or a bad thing. It could be a bad thing as it
means that my design doesn't 鍖t the design brief accurately enough, but it could be a good thing as
LWL cover designs are supposed to be different and unique to one another, meaning my design
follows the brief. The colour scheme I used is quite debatable as well, my peers most commonly
used orange and blue as their colour scheme as those colours commonly represent Sci-鍖 and
futuristic themes. I however decided to use greens and yellows for my design. I tried using blues
and oranges but they didn兵t seem to look right with this style and so I started exploring other
colours. I came up with yellow and green as I thought that they complemented each other well and
also as I thought that they represented common themes in the movie, green represents the military
and also planet earth and yellow represents warning/danger, linking to the impending extinction of
humanity. Using an uncommon colour scheme also adds to the abstract style of the design as it
makes it less simple and straightforward.
I think that the clean, 鍖at, symmetrical line art works well with the grungy dry brush strokes and
splatters as it makes the cover energetic and eye catching. I like the layout of the text and the font
used as I feel it 鍖ts well with the grungy theme. The text is the focus of the design as it stands out
so well. I兵m not too happy about the lips and I feel that I may have done a better job, on the colour
choice and the line art itself. The overlaid text in the background however works well as it adds to
the style of the design and is a nice added touch to make the background more interesting.
