Assignment_While maintaining the concept and
design from part I, continue the exploration of a
3D form but this time within a 1x1 cube.
medium_Model Making Material | wood and
museum board. Drawings Material | black and
colored ink with renderings done with graphite.
ConCept_MOTION | While maintaining the
knowledge and concept from part I, I explored
the possibilities of the 3-dimentional form.
Keeping with the architectural language from
part I the wood is again the structural support
and the museum board becomes the visual
motion through the space. The black planes
imply the original rectangular language from the
2-d design. The white ribbon wraps the cube
as a uniting element for the cube as a whole.
The rotating boxes emphasizes the depth of the
cube while maintaining the language of motion.

Assignment_Design a single apartment unit within
1000sqft space.

ConCept_MOVEMENT | WORKING Within the amount of
space required movement through out the space

its function. To differentiate the spaces steps are
placed as a bridge between the different spaces.

Assignment_Design a mixed-use apartment-housing
complex in a dense area of Washington, DC. Physical
BULDING USAGE CommeRCial institutional
model. Intention was to design a building using site Residential ChuRCh
analysis and taking into consideration site context
using the computer.
medium_Drawings | AutoCAD [preliminary design], Revit
[drawings and 3D renderings], Photoshop [renderings
and drawings], Illustrator [diagrams], and Indesign
[laying out presentation]. Physical Model | chipboard,
and lazercutter.
ConCept_ContrAst with unity | While exploring the
site and its surrounding contrast seemed relevant in FIGURE GROUND
the area. Contrast of styles and materials were found
design based on contrast with unity, main ideas were
carrying idea of row homes, and opening the corner up
to the public creating an open space to give back to
the area. Each apartment is unique in shape but all are

Assignment _ Explore the poetry of architecture while
responding to the different scales that exist. Design
a research complex dedicated to researching extinct
two programs, a research facility and a visitor center.
The site is split by a road and a major high way passes
under the site.
medium _ Drawings | Rhino [preliminary drawings and
drawings]. Model Materials | Chipboard, Museum
CONCEPT _ Wrapping | Reacting to the splits of the
site I wanted to connect the two pieces of site. Also in
response to the program I wanted the research center
and the visitor center to wrap and always have a visual
connection between the two. Design developed into
between the two creating a constant visual connection
themselves. The programs were split between the
two buildings and the connecting circulation circulates
around the enclosure becomes an experiential
element. The existing public walkway was redesign
the buildings as a way to excite and interest people
to return and enter the visitors center. This area also
became the access to the entrances for the buildings.
Outer shells were added to hide the crystalline building
to bring people to the site. The outer shells respond
to the city scale, while the two wrapping buildings
respond to the buildings immediate scale. The public
walkway creates an public atrium at the center at a
supported with massive trusses to create a loss of
