7. Mekanisme Menelan
During the process of swallowing, or deglutition:
1. The tongue pushes a bolus of food into the throat
2. The nasopharynx is reflexively blocked
3. Respiration is inhibited, the vocal chords close and the epiglottis
seals off the trachea
4. While the upper esophageal sphincter opens
5. A peristaltic wave forces the bolus into the stomach.
