It is important to integrate pragmatics into the English language curriculum at the
earlier levels. We can teach the pragmatic competence through activities, we can use
different models or examples and the students may use the first language as well as
the target language.
2. What are the goals of teaching pragmatics?
The goals of teaching pragmatics is giving to the students the capability of interact
in different ways in the target language. Give instruction is important for students
because they can familiarize with the culture of the target language.
They can expand the perceptions of the target language, knowing their way of
behavior, and a lot of things different to our culture.
3. Is it necessary to teach no-verbal communication? Why? In what way can it be
taught?
No-Verbal communication is a way to communicate without words. It includes
apparent behaviors such as facial expressions, eyes, touching, and tones of
voice, as well as less obvious messages such as dress, posture and spatial
distance between two or more people.
I think it is too important in the acquisition of a second language, because it is a
way to make that students understand without using the native language. The
non-verbal communication has to be taught using other methods, and try to
interact with he students using different ways
