This document provides information on various CPR, first aid, and childcare safety courses offered by North Coast Opportunities Volunteer Programs in Lake and Mendocino Counties. Courses include adult and child CPR/AED plus infant CPR and first aid training in February and March, bloodborne pathogens training in April, CA child care CPR and first aid in April, CA child care preventative health and safety in April, CPR and first aid for babysitters in May, and a babysitter's training course in May. Fees and certificates/expiration dates are provided for each course. Contact information is listed at the bottom.

Adult and Child CPR/AED Plus Infant CPR and First Aid
February 26th, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm or

FEE: $60.00 9 Hours per Course
Adult CPR/AED, Child and Infant CPR, valid 2 year; First Aid, valid 3 years. Learn how to respond to adult, child,
and infant emergencies by providing CPR, plus how to care for cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock, bleed-
ing, other first aid emergencies, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission
April 14th, 6 pm - 8 pm
FEE: $35.00 3 Hour Course
Certificate: valid 1 year. Explains intent of bloodborne pathogens regulations issued by Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA), how to help prevent exposure incident, disinfecting equipment, reporting and follow-
ing up on exposures to infectious materials.
CA Child Care, CPR and First Aid
April 16th, 8 am - 5 pm
FEE: $100.00 8 Hour Course
Adult, Child & Infant CPR, valid 1 year; CA Child Care First Aid, valid 2 years. Learn to respond to breathing and
cardiac emergencies, pediatric first aid and injury prevention. Students receive adult, child and infant skill cards,
First Aid/CPR/AED participant book and CA Child Care Book. A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve
your space.
CA Child Care Preventative Health and Safety
April 30th, 3 pm - 8 pm
FEE: $60.00 7 Hour Course
Health and Safety Units, no expiration. Meets the California state requirement for health and safety training for
child care workers. Includes preventing disease transmission, taking care of an ill child, and other health and safety
precautions related to the child care setting. EMSA approved: sticker included. No prerequisite, but CA Child Care
First Aid is recommended prior to taking this course.
CPR and First Aid for Babysitters
May 18th, 3 pm - 8 pm
FEE: $50.00 7 Hour Course
Certificate: Child and Infant CPR, valid 2 year; First Aid, valid 3 years. Young people learn how to perform cardio-
pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), choke rescue and rescue breathing on infants and children plus how to deal with
cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock, bleeding and other first aid emergencies.
Babysitters Training Course
May 21st, 8:30 am - 4 pm
FEE: $60.00 8 Hour Course
Certificate: Babysitting, no expiration. Teaches 11 to 15 year-olds babysitting skills including handling emergencies
and preventing accidents, feeding, diapering, playing with and caring for children.
