Shannon Smith describes herself as a principal of Glen Cairn Public School. She is over grade 7
and 8 in Ottawa Canada. In her bio she states that she is playing around with learning, out in
the open, every single day). Her twitter seems to be a more professional twitter. Her tweets
generally all relate to education in one way or another. Shannon Smith tweets many links that
could be useful for teacher, and also supports using technology in the classroom. As the tweet
that I screen capped shows, she is interested in question current ways of grading. Her tweet,
Dear traditional schools, How can you summarize my learning into a single letter? is a great
example of those feelings. She is very supportive of trying new things in education and fixing the
parts that we have problems with. Shannon takes advantage of Twitters option to retweet
others tweets and does so very often. She retweets her schools twitter very often as well as
many educational experts. Her encouragement to parents to take part in twitter, gives her an
audience that is perfect for a principle to have. I believe that her twitter is a good resource for a
knew teacher, due to all of her rather progressive ideas towards education.
