Foreigners living in Russia often ask us about some particularities with the legal system in
Russia. Today we answer one of these frequently asked questions:
What are the consequences for a foreigner who has a work permit or a permanent residence
permit in Russia, in the case that he / she receives traffic fines?
Answer:
Two or more fines per year are serious cause for concern (Law 115-FZ, article 9; Law 114-FZ,
article 26). After 2 or more fines there is a possibility of annulation of work permit, or
residence permit (vid na zhitelstvo), a refusal to issue a new one, or deportation.
We are glad to offer our legal advisory services for both companies and individuals in Russia.
