Formatically is a free online tool that automatically formats academic papers in MLA style. It was created by two students who were tired of dealing with MLA formatting. The tool allows users to easily format essay pages, works cited pages, cover pages, and outlines. For essay pages, users simply fill in text boxes and Formatically will format the text, spacing, and size automatically. The citation page allows copying and pasting citations which are then automatically alphabetized and formatted. With one click, the cover page can be automatically filled out using the same information as the essay. The tool makes MLA formatting fast and easy so students can focus on writing instead of styling.

- 3. What is Formatically? Format an Entire Essay in a Matter of Minutes The site is built to provide free automatic MLA formatting for every student. Formatically is an intuitive MLA styling and formatting platform designed by two high school grads who were tired of dealing with MLA formatting.
- 4. How it Works Using the Formatting Tool
- 5. Step One The Essay Page This is the formatically home screen. To format the essay page all one needs to do is fill in the empty boxes. Text boxes can be left blank or filled out. Either way, Formatically with space, size, and format it automatically.
- 6. Step Two The Works Cited Page The Citation tab along the top takes users to a page where citations can be copied and pasted. Formatically will alphabetize, indent, and format them automatically.
- 7. Step Three The Cover Page If one simply clicks the “Same as Essay” button on the cover page formatting tool, Formatically will automatically fill in all the required fields.
- 8. Step Four The Outline Page We are working on this feature now. This feature is not done yet, but once it is, there will be a single button that automatically formats the entire outline page.
- 9. Step 5 Send or Download THAT’S IT!! Once any/all of the needed pages are done, the properly formatted document can be downloaded or emailed.
