The exhibition examines four case studies from Arctic communities to understand how global systems affect northern peoples. Case 1 looks at Maniitsoq, Greenland industrializing and exploiting natural resources. Case 2 examines Reykjavik, Iceland overcoming financial crisis by connecting to global markets. Case 3 analyzes Vard淡, Norway transitioning from a peripheral to central area as climate change opens new shipping routes. Case 4 studies Nikel, Russia retrieving its identity after decades as a mono-town existing solely to extract resources. Overall, the exhibition explores how Arctic identities and communities can thrive in a changing North.
