The students prepared garden boxes and seedlings over the winter to plant in their school garden in the spring. They made a seeding calendar and grew tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflowers, herbs like basil, parsley, chives and thyme. By the time summer vacation started, the first tomatoes were growing but the teacher promised to take pictures to show the students when school resumed in September. The students were excited to plant vegetables like salad greens, cabbage, radishes, carrots, tomatoes and gherkins in their garden boxes.
